Accomplishments: ServicesThe Enterprise Community has set up a number of services for EC residents to apply for. The following is a short list with a description of each. Water and Utilities Revolving Loan FundOne of the major goal of the EC is to increase the accessibility of water and sewer utilities to individuals living in the EC. Often community residents are deterred from getting water because of the initial cost of the utility companies tap fees or installing the lines into the persons home. For many residents, USDA rural development's Revolving Loan Fund can help pay for these. However, some residents may not qualify for this loan. The EC has chosen to offer a revolving loan fund that may cover some residents that do not qualify for the USDA program.
Tele-Democracy NetworkThe Tele-Democracy Network is designed to increase civic participation in the EC through emerging communication technology. Click on the program's name to find out more about what it is and what it has done. In the near future, Videoconference Seminars will be offered in community on a variety of topics. These seminars will be listed on this site's community calendar. For more information about the Tele-Democracy Network, visit the project's websitehere. RBEG- Rural Business Enterprise GrantRBEG is a fund that was received from USDA Rural Developement to be used for loans to small businesses. New and existing small businesses can apply for loans of up to $15,000 through the EC. These loans will be at a lower interest rate then most banks would provide, and businesses that do not qualify for bank loans may qualify for this one. If you are interested in applying for these loans, please contact the EC staff at (865)828-5927. This Website was made possible by the Department of Commerce National
Telecom-munications and Infrastructure Administration, Appalachian Regional
Commission and the Clinch-Powell RC&D. “All programs and assistance of the RC&D Council are available without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact the USDA’s TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TDD).” |
