Clinch-Powell Home Team

Even with today's low interest rates, the dream of home ownership is out of reach for many families. Not because they can't make the monthly mortgage payments - many families already pay as much or more for rent than they would pay with a house payment. The expense of a down payment and closing cost, bad or no credit, the lack of affordable homes in the area and the complicated homebuying process can all prevent potential homeowers from owning a home.

The Home Team will help families into home ownership in a variety of ways.

  • Construction of quality, affordable homes.
  • Finding permanent financing.
  • Overcoming the barrier of down-payment and closing costs.
  • Help with understanding credit and maintaining good credit.
  • Certified homebuyer education to demystify the homebuying process.
  • Homebuyer counseling and loan packaging to find the best permanent financing.

If you would like more information about any of these items, please contact us at 1-800-814-6355, email us at chris@clinchpowell.org, or continue to explore this web site.

Mortgage Delinquency Counseling

For most families, a mortgage is their largest debt, so is easy to fall behind on a mortgage when the family budget gets tight. Clinich-Powell RC&D provides mortgage delinquency counseling to any homeowner who needs it. Generally, if dealt with early, almost any home can be saved, or at least sold with little damage to the homeowner's credit. But it has to be dealt with early. If you think you are going to miss a payment, contact a HUD-approved housing counseing agency like Clinch-Powell RC&D immediately. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to save your home.

Building Affordable Single Family Homes

The RC&D recognizes the need for new, affordable single family homes in our area. See what we are doing to build homes in our area under Home Building and Renovation

We are proud to announce a new program for homeowners in Hancock County. The RC&D has begun a program to help homeowners with unsafe/unsanitary home damage/deterioration by offering low-interest and no-interest loans. If you believe you are interested, please contact the RC&D office.
