Home Sweet Homeownership Made Easy

Home Sweet Homeownership Made Easy

Kenneth and Wendy had always wanted to own their own home, but after both of them became disabled and were no longer able to work, they weren’t sure they could afford a mortgage or be able to come up with a substantial down payment. While looking at Facebook one day, Kenneth came across a Clinch-Powell post about the Homeownership Made Easy program and decided to look further into it.

Fast forward a few months. Wendy and Kenneth are now celebrating the purchase of their new home! Clinch-Powell’s Homeownership Made Easy assists low to moderate income borrowers in overcoming barriers to homeownership. Using Federal HOME Grant Dollars made available through the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, Clinch-Powell can purchase and make necessary repairs to a home needing repairs and then provide affordable mortgage financing to purchase the newly updated home at a reduced price. The HOME grant dollars allow Clinch-Powell to ensure that the home is in good condition with updated systems and sound structures and provides funds to offset down payment and closing costs. Partnerships with Fahe and USDA Rural Development make it possible to provide affordable, sustainable mortgage payments to our clients. Through Homeownership Made Easy, homebuyers can receive up to $15,000 to make their mortgage affordable.

Kenneth and Wendy are excited to begin this new chapter in their lives. If you would like more information about becoming a homeowner or any of Clinch-Powell’s housing programs contact us today.
