In yesterday's work session following the council meeting, the council was presented with the plans for the Lakeway Transit's fixed route public transportation. Beginning later this winter, buses will be running on 3 different fixed routes from one end of town to the other. Buses will stop at popular locations including industrial parks, shopping centers, and medical facilities. Price will be just $1.50 per ride with monthly passes available. Below is the proposed route map. More information will be made available as we draw closer to the start of service.
This program will be operated through ETHRA and other local and state organizations. Funding will come through federal and state funds. No city tax dollars will be used.
